Ashley & Tyler make some pretty awesome friends and an even better couple. This wedding has been a long time coming. We had everything set up for February, but Ashley’s dear daddy had a medical emergency. After several stressful months he’s at a healthy place and was able to walk his daughter down the aisle (and wearing a FOB or Father of the Bride baseball cap too!). The wedding even took place on his farm outside of Cairo.
Tyler is a huge football fan – but FSU specifically. Ashley wore a Seminoles garter. She was also wise enough to plan the wedding around the football season. 😉
It was an exceptionally windy day! The veil played nice for the portraits, but was mischievous during the ceremony.
The ceremony took place under the most unique arch I’ve ever seen with my own two eyes! It was a gorgeous arch covered in greenery and red roses which complimented the bride’s flowers and bridesmaids dresses.
See those great big smiles? That’s about the time my eyes start to tear up. I just love people in love! By the by, the minister? That’s Tyler’s dad!
After the ceremony, we were whisked away in a golf cart for some portraits. Every wedding should have a golf cart. Way more fun than they should be!
This was one fun gang to photograph! Look at all those smiles!
After a few more portraits, we joined everyone back at the tent for toasts, dinner, cake, and dancing!

Several years back I photographed Susan & Mike’s wedding. What I didn’t know was Susan had the baby fever. So much so that now their family is blessed with Mike’s teenage son and their two little boys, Noah & Denver. I got to photograph Denver when he was brand new (had that baby smell on me for hours, hours I say!).

This week I delivered the absolutely lovely artist designed wedding book to Anna & Dane. Before I show off the fantastic book, here’s some of my favorite images from their wedding day.
I absolutely had to show you these photos first. Because these are two of the most fun folks I’ve ever met! Their families are precious too!
Anna decided to wear a fantastic pair of blue shoes! And Gin Creek provided the perfect backdrop for the day.

Everyone say hi to Julie! She’s a full-time studio artist who combines fine art & function into a funky mix. It’s completely possible that I use pieces she’s made every day.
We met during our Master of Fine Arts program at FSU way back in 2005. Before moving to Florida she grew up among the cornfields in rural Illinois. Sometimes, she’s a corny gal (bwah! humor!).
Last week we met up for some portraits, and then for extra fun we did a process series. In this case, Julie shows us her process for making a tumbler. A tumbler which will soon be mine. The entire process is just magical. Julie’s studio is absolutely filled with inspiration! The image on the right is a silkscreen she uses in her transfer work.
This was where the magic started for me. I love image transfers (I could show you examples of my work, but I won’t Bogart Julie’s post). Back to the art making.
See! Magic! Julie, of course, had no doubts. I was on the edge of my seat.
Almost finished! Julie makes this look easy but it’s only because she’s talented & experienced. Surgeon hands. Covered in clay.
The image on the left is a sketch for a piece she’s making for an upcoming exhibition. Remember how I said Julie’s an artist? I meant it! If you see her name in the news be sure you check out that exhibition.
These nesting bowls come in a set of three. I’d love to see them dotted around my house. The smallest is perfect to keep by your bedside and your engagement & wedding band safe at night. Julie takes commissions and can add your names or wedding date. Something to keep in mind if you are trying to think of a unique wedding present too.
